Moving to Paris has been one of the most thrilling adjustments I have made to my life thus far. Though it’s a temporary move, the experience has permanently imprinted this city as a place to consider one of my homes. It’s a city where fleeting hours are spent discovering the nooks and crannies, winding between the most beautiful, iconic landmarks.
What I love about Skyfall is that it has so much personal cost in the story. What is so riveting about Bond films is that they are about spectacle, lust and surprise, but what makes them even better is when the plot is stronger than all of those elements. Brilliant acting aside, I bow to the only fitting exit of Dame Judi Dench as M.
I am proud to be able to say that I was an ensemble member of this amazing production. This unique version of Midsummer explored the play as a dream with a collective subconscious shared by the entire cast, which made for a very contemporary, visceral and wildly funny play. If you were there, I am glad to have dreamed with you.
It’s amazing being able to see people you care so much about put up a show that they pour their hearts into. A huge congratulations to my fellow future company members on a beautiful rendition of The Marriage of Figaro. It was widely hysterical, truthful and personal - qualities that I love to find in the theater.
Bon Iver. This is an example of how musicians should go on tour. The airy howls grew in the air, were set on fire with the visceral roar of bass and then broken down to an orchestration of organic musicality that so artistically weaved segments together. It was a visual and aural spectacle that touched each sense. All hail.
The quirky journey that Suzy and Sam embark on in Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom is romantically endearing, bringing you back to the odd memories of being on the brink of childhood and adolescence that you typically don’t care to discuss. The exaggerated andersonian world has a unique theatricality that I think makes for a fantastic experience.
