I recently went to go see the new play Lonely, I’m Not at Second Stage. I thought that the play spoke seamlessly to our current generation and that the staging of it felt very fresh in terms of the technology that they were using. The entire cast was very strong and made me want to act in a play like this some day.

The Tragedians of the City’s all male production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Anya Saffir, is proof that acting in its purest form can submerge an audience in a world where the fact that the women were played by men can be completely forgotten and storytelling remains to be the main objective of theater.

The Bechtler Museum not only houses some of the most amazing modern art there is, but also makes me extraordinarily jealous that the entire collection belongs to one family. From Giacometti to Duarte, the array of pieces is very expansive and was a great treat to find in downtown Charlotte, NC.

My Week With Marilyn is exactly the type of film that I would love to work on. The actors portray fully lived characters and it is no surprise to hear that Michelle Williams was given over a year to prepare for the role with the proof in her amazing transformation. It leaves you with a longing to live in the world of the film.

Shock and awe describe the feeling left after seeing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Going into this film without any previous knowledge of what it was about held me in suspense the whole way through, left with an ending though that didn’t quite satisfy so to leave room for this trilogy to unfold.

Toxic Women by Andrea Mary Marshall was a great exhibit challenging the idea of the ideal woman. What I found interesting about the body of work that the artist had was the large range of styles portrayed and also what I particularly enjoyed was the artistic intention of her different marks. I am very excited to see what she will produce in the future.

Recently I have seen Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway, which was an entertaining cabaret turned charity event, secondly Chinglish by David Henry Hwang, a very funny show about the mistranslation between the Chinese and American cultures and lastly Stickfly, which was as close as Tyler Perry movies get to stage.

This past week I was in the Atlantic student production How to Dream Wilder, a night of four one-act plays written by Thornton Wilder. I played Arthur, a boy about 12 years old, in Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden, a play influenced by Wilder’s mother about the journey through life a mother must take. Thank you to everybody who came to see it!

James Blake at Webster Hall last night was one of the most moving concerts I have ever seen. The combination of the woofing speakers and the dissonance of his chords were numbing and when listening to him play live, it is clear that he is doing something far beyond what other artists are using dub-step for.

I wasn’t completely sold at first, but Adam Rapp’s new play Dreams of Flying Dream of Falling really won me over all together. The show takes the audience on an emotional ride and at the core of the story, I took from it a sense of what raw honesty and the affect of others can do to a person. Another great show out of the Atlantic Theater Company.
